Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on the 9th of August, 1963 in Newark New Jersey. She is the child of the gospel music legend Cissy Houston(nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney Elizabeth Houston's cousin Dionne Warswick also sings. She began singing in the choir at her church The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark when she was a child and at 15 was singing backing vocals professionally alongside their mother in Chaka Khans 1978 hit Im Every Woman. Her mother, Jermaine Lou Rawls and Jermaine the artists she backed up. In 1981 her cover was included on the cover of Seventeen Magazine. The year 1981 saw her begin to work as a vocalist with New York's funk band Material. It was her quality vocal work that caught notice of major record label including Arista. The album she released as her debut Whitney Houston was released in 1985 and became the biggest-selling album by a debut artist. The album featured several hits including How Will I know You Love Me Save All My Love For you and the most loved love of all. The album helped her reach seven US chart-topping singles in a row. The album was sold out in US 3,000,000 copies and then increased to 25,000,000 copies world-wide. The album earned her the first in the six Grammys she has won. The Whitney album of 1987, that featured songs like The Bodyguard, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to continue her popularity. But it was The Bodyguard of 1992 that made her one of the most successful musicians in recent history. Although her movie performance and soundtrack were not well-received, her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and its accompanying album were dominant on the albums and singles charts throughout the world for a period of many months. It sold 44 million copies. Their daughter Bobbi is born March of 1993, a year following her wedding to Bobby Brown. Around this time, her well-documented drug use started and in 1996 she became a daily user.

Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchorwoman, reporter, as well as a political correspondent.
